Preventive care, routine screenings, and time to discuss your health concerns with a medical professional.

Why Well-Woman Visits Matter

Routine preventive care is one of the most important ways to protect your long-term health. According to the National Cancer Institute, very few women who get routine cervical cancer screenings go on to develop the disease. A well-woman visit gives you time to check in on your body and address any concerns before they become bigger issues.

Care Net Pregnancy Center of Paradise offers well-woman visits that may include pelvic exams, Pap tests, breast exams, UTI testing, and STI testing based on your needs.

A Place to Talk About Your Health

Maybe your periods have changed. Perhaps you have noticed something different about your breasts or have a sexual health question that feels difficult to ask. If you’re unsure how to bring it up, you can start by telling us what you’ve noticed.

Your health history, concerns, and previous screening results help guide recommendations for your care. Bring any available results and a list of medications and supplements you take.

Our provider will explain what to expect before the exam begins. If you have questions at any point, please let us know so we can talk them through with you.

Understanding Your Screenings

Pelvic exams: A pelvic exam checks your reproductive organs for changes and can help evaluate concerns such as pelvic discomfort or abnormal discharge.

Pap tests: A Pap test checks cervical cells for abnormal changes that could develop into cancer. Your age, history, and previous results help determine how often you need testing.

Breast exams: A clinical breast exam checks for lumps or other changes in breast tissue. Let us know if you’ve noticed anything new, such as pain, tenderness, or changes to the skin.

UTI testing: Urine testing can help identify a urinary tract infection. Let our medical staff know if you have burning when you urinate, frequent urges to urinate, or other urinary concerns.

STI testing: Testing is available for chlamydia, gonorrhea, syphilis, HIV, and hepatitis. More than 2.2 million cases of chlamydia, gonorrhea, and syphilis were reported in the U.S. in 2024, according to the CDC. Because STIs often have no symptoms, testing may be recommended even when you feel well. Learn more about our STI testing and treatment services.
