Care Net Pregnancy Center of Paradise offers free, confidential lactation support counseling for newborn breastfeeding. Meet with a registered nurse certified in lactation support to discuss your concerns and receive guidance for feeding your baby.

Help With Your Breastfeeding Questions

Getting a proper latch can be challenging. Finding a comfortable hold can take time, too. Our nurse can discuss latch and positioning and help you recognize signs of a good latch.

Because you cannot measure how much milk your baby drinks at the breast, you may wonder whether your baby is getting enough. Our nurse can talk with you about signs of adequate milk intake.

You might feel nervous about breastfeeding in public, or wonder how your partner or another caregiver will feed your baby when you need to be away. Bring your questions about pumping and storing breast milk, too.

Benefits for You and Your Baby

Breastfeeding provides nutrition and can reduce a baby’s risk of ear infections, asthma, type 1 diabetes, and certain other illnesses. It can also lower a mother’s risk of breast and ovarian cancers and type 2 diabetes.

Nursing offers close moments with your newborn, may reduce formula expenses, and allows feeding without preparing a bottle. However you feed your baby, you deserve care and encouragement.

Room for Follow-Up

You may have new questions as you try what you have learned at home. With up to three lactation support counseling sessions available, you can return to discuss how feedings are going and what still feels challenging. Referrals to pediatricians are available when needed.
